This extensive catalog completes work begun by musicologist John Kirkpatrick in 1955 when Ive's music manuscripts were deposited in the Yale Music Library. Arranged alphabetically by title within genres, the 728 entries include information such alternative titles, required (and optional) instruments, approximate duration, movement titles/subtitles, first several bars, first line of text, sources and dates of individual works, first publication and first public performance, first recording, derivation and borrowing (including self-borrowing), Ives' models, important literature, discography, and commentary.
