Nanostructured metallic alloys

Advancements in nanotechnology for material processing via combustion synthesis have spurred the development of superalloys that provide improved protective properties. Nano-scale reactant particles offer increased homogeneity that improve the micro-structural features and macroscopic proper-ties of the synthesized product. This book examines the use of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis as a practical alternative to the conventional methods for alloy production.
