The fast growing Chinese tourism attracts increasingly more global attention. At present, the industry plays an important role for sustaining the economic growth of the country. However, the sustainable development of the Chinese tourism is largely restricted by some problems, e. g. government-dominating development paradigm, lack of tourism planning and a comprehensive legal system, fails in legal enforcement, deficiencies of collaboration and information sharing, and short of qualified human resources and an effective educational system. This book contributes to researches on sustainable Chinese tourism development mainly from three aspects, i. e. promoting the C& E sector, facilitating sustainable corporate management of tourism enterprises, and stimulating eco-tourism development with respect to the new cask principle. The first part of the book presents a decent review on the status quo of the Chinese tourism in mainland and the SARs, i. e. Hong Kong and Macau. The second part focuses on researches about sustainable corporate management of tourism enterprises from three aspects, i. e. CLQ and associated fuzzy comprehensive evaluation; CSR, business ethics and corporate governance; and a web-service based knowledge management system and its implementation. In this part, the author initiates a new concept CLQ, which refers to Corporate Longevity Quotient in facilitating the fuzzy estimation of the life span of Chinese tourism enterprises. The third part of book concentrates on researches about the Chinese eco-tourism and its sustainable development based on the new cask principle, i. e., the „short-board“ principle. Some suggestions in promoting sustainable eco-tourism are provided at the end.
