Between 1933 and 1945, the key institutions of Nazi persecution and terror – the Secret State Police Office, the leadership of the SS, and the Reich Security Main Office – were located on what is now the site of the Topography of Terror Documentation Center. Most of the Nazi regime’s crimes throughout Europe were planned and coordinated from here. In 15 stations on the „Topography of Terror“ site, the circular tour documents the visible and buried traces of the terrain’s use in the twentieth century. The accompanying publication supplements the tour with eyewitness accounts and essays on the history of the site.
