Exploring the effectiveness of local content requirements in promoting solar PV manufacturing in India

This paper assesses the impact of using local content requirements to encourage India’s local solar PV manufacturing industry. It explains the limited effectiveness of local content requirements in India’s National Solar Mission and suggests some policy recommendations to address this.
