In June 2010 the 6th Arnold Tross Colloquium was held. It was a very successful conference with participants from 4 european countries. Experts from industry and members of universities were listen to 11 papers. The presentations covered a wide range of topics and I was very pleased to find a number or papers dealing with Grease Tribology. That was the reason that some of the colloquium participants spoke of a Grease-Colloquium for 2010. Research reports from industry and university were presented and the atmosphere during the discussions and talks was very comfortable. It was a pleasure for me to see some of our students were listen to some of the papers and I hope we could initiate some interests for Tribology. Its always interesting to see some scientists are working in a more fundamental area and other are trying to apply their knowledge to different machine elements. But both groups of researchers try to understand more the nature of friction and wear. I hope our colloquium can support all this work.
