It requires several steps that have to be learned and practiced. Children need to stop and process information, think of the possible choices, and then decide which choice is the best. One way to use this book is to talk about what children would do in the various situations in the book. Then discuss other situations with them that require choices to be made. Help children understand that in order to make a good choice they have to rely on information that is already known to them.
