Focusing on the modeling of dynamical systems in the Galaxy, this study introduces innovative methods for approximating action-angle variables in various potentials. It applies these techniques to develop dynamical models for tidal streams—remnants of tidally stripped satellites—and the Galactic disc, offering insights into the Milky Way's gravitational structure. The work also incorporates additional factors like stellar metallicity, enhancing the understanding of these components and their interactions within the Galaxy.
