The Counterpane Fairy

Katharine Pyle, an accomplished American artist, poet, and children's writer, was notable for her contributions to literature and illustration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Growing up in Wilmington, Delaware, she was educated at prestigious institutions and gained recognition for her art at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Pyle achieved significant success with her 1898 book, The Counterpane Fairy, and went on to publish over 30 books while illustrating for prominent magazines like Ladies' Home Journal and Harper's Bazaar.
