Inspired by his early experiences listening to Jesse Stuart's poetry, Paul began writing during high school, with his first piece titled "A Walk in The Forest." His journey took him to Ethiopia, where he worked in education from 1983 to 1986. After learning of Stuart's passing, he returned to pay his respects and was gifted a copy of "The Green Hills." Paul later published his own poetry book in 1999 and founded PAULmark Poetry Art, where he combines poems with themed art, emphasizing the lasting impact of his work with the motto, "The gift that gives again, every time it is read."
