Set during the Great Depression, the story follows Luke Thacker, a hobo navigating the challenges of life on the rails. As he survives on minimal resources, he becomes adept at interpreting the Hobo Code, a symbolic language of transients. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he uncovers a secret that leads him to Athanasia, a mysterious realm filled with memories, intertwining themes of survival, identity, and the search for belonging amidst hardship.
