The Maldonado Miracle

The story centers on twelve-year-old Jose Maldonado, who shifts from aspiring artist to a struggle for survival after the death of his mother and his father's departure for the U.S. His perilous journey to reunite with his father leads him to a migrant worker camp that turns into a nightmare. When he seeks refuge in a church, an accidental incident makes it appear as though a statue of Christ is bleeding, igniting a media frenzy and impacting the fate of his town.
