A mother suffers her worst nightmare when her youngest son is accused of a horrible crime that he insists he didn't commit. She spends the next four years trying to find someone or someway to help him prove he is innocent. The journey takes her through the difficult and sometimes impossible task of getting past the clique of the local legal system. She discovers that things she was taught all her life about the way the system works is just not true and struggles to find a way to help her son return to his family. She faces not only this tragedy but others that occur in the family during this very difficult time.
