The aim is to summarize personal research and that of others, while identifying key issues in the field. Recent advances in human molecular genetics offer promising insights into the biological mechanisms of brain function and the genetic variations affecting mental performance and personality. However, conducting such studies presents logistical challenges, requiring careful selection of population samples, whether "normal" individuals or those with specific phenotypic traits. Additionally, EEG diagnosis and classification demand high specificity, complicating the research process. These challenges necessitate thorough preparation, sustained effort, and patience. Despite these hurdles, the author believes the potential results would justify the endeavor. As an emeritus professor, the author acknowledges the inability to undertake such a program personally but emphasizes the importance of this research area.
