The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of different types of carbides and to study its form at different temperatures, but still the main question which type of Carbides has acted as primary precipitates that will take part during solidification and if so at which temperature was the beginning of precipitation and the effect of alloying elements (ex: Cr, V, Mo & W) on the percentage of the carbide percipitates leading to a corresponding effect on the high temperature mechanical properties. Not only the formation of the carbide will be reported but also its size, quantity, distribution and its effect beginning at different temperatures during solidification on the hot ductility. Also studying the effect of solidification rate on the carbide formation of ledeburitic steels under continuous casting conditions was reported. The second purpose of this work will be determining the high temperature mechanical properties and the influence of forming degree and strain rate, of tool steel. Moreover, the effect of carbides on changing the forming parameters will be studied.
