The international scientific seminar Managing and Developing Human Resources 2015, organized by the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava, celebrated the university's 75th anniversary. The event aimed to enhance collaboration between academia and business in Human Resources Management (HRM), under the subtitle The Academic Bridge to HRM practice. Key themes included contemporary challenges in HRM, the status of HR departments, and expectations for HR specialists amidst evolving trends. Collaborating with the Cranfield Network on Human Resources Management (CRANET), the seminar featured participants from CRANET who provided valuable research insights. Business practitioners also contributed by addressing current HR issues and best practices. Esteemed authorities from Slovak universities and business schools attended, aiming to foster a platform for presenting CRANET research, sharing empirical knowledge from HR leaders in Slovak enterprises, and identifying new research topics. The seminar sought to strengthen ties between academia and business, promote future collaborations, and produce a book of proceedings that compiled contemporary research outputs. This initiative was part of the Scientific Project VEGA 1/0842/13, focusing on workforce flexibility and stability in alignment with the Lisbon Strategy 2020 and the Europe 2020 strategy.
