The planning and construction of buildings and infrastructure require a complex interaction between involved disciplines with partially diverging interests as well as the recognition of their impact on the natural environment. They impose demands on safety and reliability for a long time. Thus, the civil engineer has to take responsibility for the creation and maintenance of technical constructions.
