The Outline Edition of the Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR) has been published. Now the creation of the final Common Frame of Reference (CFR) continues to be one of the most important issues in the field of European Private Law. This volume discusses the key questions as to what extent the CFR can and should reflect existing EC Contract Law and to what extent the DCFR has already incorporated the acquis communautaire. Originally the result of a symposium held in December 2007 at the Centre for European Private Law (CEP) at the University of Münster, the contributions to the volume have been revised to respond to other further developments in European Private Law: the revised and enlarged version of the Acquis Principles “Contract II” and the European Commission’s Proposal for a Directive on Consumer Rights.
