An autobiography, this book tells the story of a convert from climbing and mountaineering into the world beneath our feet. From a tentative start and being rescued, the story unfolds to describe worldwide underground experiences and an expedition to explore - at the time in terms of flow - the largest underground river in the world in Papua New Guinea.
