Freckles

Set against the backdrop of Indiana's Limberlost Swamp, the story follows Freckles, a one-handed orphan who transitions from life in a Chicago orphanage to guarding timber in a wild, unfamiliar environment. Overcoming his initial fears, he becomes enchanted by the swamp's beauty and develops a deep affection for a mysterious woman known as "The Swamp Angel." As he grapples with his past and feelings of unworthiness, Freckles discovers the importance of courage and kindness, ultimately finding his true home and identity.
