Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth dominated by slug-like aliens after a devastating war with Titan, the story revolves around an intricate game called Bluff, where survivors wager land and spouses. Pete Garden, having lost both his wife and Berkeley, devises a plan to reclaim what he's lost. However, he faces numerous challenges, including alien interference, psychic traitors, and complications with his new wife, adding layers of intrigue and tension to his quest for redemption.
