Gender and Language in "Fahrenheit 451". The Fictional Orality Regarding the Reproduction of Stereotypes of Female Speech

Focusing on linguistic gender stereotypes, this seminar paper analyzes the characters Clarisse and Mildred in Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451." The study seeks to verify or falsify the hypothesis that Clarisse's speech is less stereotypical than Mildred's. Utilizing a hybrid methodology, it combines both quantitative and qualitative analyses of linguistic forms to explore how these characters reflect or challenge societal prejudices regarding women.
