Holloman Air Force Base

Holloman Air Force Base has played a pivotal role in advancing national defense since its establishment in 1942. Known for its innovative training and research, it has been the site of remarkable achievements, including Col. John P. Stapp's record-setting rocket runs and Capt. Joseph Kittinger's historic jump from 102,800 feet. Additionally, the base was instrumental in preparing the first chimpanzee, Ham, for spaceflight and is renowned for the F-117A Nighthawk stealth fighter, which gained fame during Operation Desert Storm.
