Women bear the largest share of household debt worldwide, and that debt has exploded over the last decade, reaching an all-time high after the COVID-19 pandemic. Things like subprime loans and microcredit policies both have an overrepresentation of women as clients and managers, enfolding them into the system. The Indebted Woman discusses the crucial yet invisible roles subaltern women play in making and consolidating debt and credit markets. Isabelle Guérin, Santosh Kumar and G. Venkatasubramanian spent over two decades observing a credit market that specifically targets women in the Indian countryside of east-central Tamil Nadu. They found that paying off debts frequently involved sex work or sexual transactions, making one's body available for surrogacy, and selling one's daughter or her virginity. Bringing together ethnography, statistical surveys, and financial diaries, they offer for the first time a comprehensive theory for this sexual division of debt, exposing the ways in which capitalism transforms womanhood, and how this transformation in turn fuels capitalism.

In der aktuellen experimentellen Arbeit wurde versucht, die Bearbeitungsleistung von austenitischem rostfreiem Stahl AISI 304 mit (PVD) TiAlN-beschichteten Hartmetallwerkzeugen unter verschiedenen Drehbedingungen (trocken, überflutet und mit Wirbelrohrkühlung) zu analysieren. Die Oberflächenrauheit der bearbeiteten Oberfläche unter trockenen, gefluteten und wirbelrohrunterstützten Kühlbedingungen wurde mit 0,93 m, 0,42 m bzw. 0,29 m gemessen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass das Drehen mit Wirbelrohrkühlung bessere Ergebnisse in Bezug auf die Oberflächenrauheit und den Werkzeugflankenverschleiß liefert als die Flut- und Trockenbearbeitung. Die Oberflächenrauheit der Probe (AISI-304-Stahl), die mit Wirbelrohrkühlung gedreht wurde, ist um 68,8 % bzw. 30,9 % geringer als bei der Bearbeitung mit trockenem bzw. geflutetem Kühlmittel. Außerdem war der Werkzeugflankenverschleiß beim wirbelunterstützten Drehen geringer als beim Trockendrehen und Flutdrehen. Außerdem wurde der Flankenverschleiß mittels REM-Analyse untersucht. Insgesamt ist die wirbelrohrunterstützte Kühlung eine bessere Option, um das Drehen unter geflutetem Kühlmittel für eine nachhaltige Zukunft zu ersetzen.
