Kelloggs Erzählung thematisiert die ungewöhnliche Freundschaft zwischen einem Jungen und seiner Kaulquappe und vermittelt wichtige Lektionen über Einfallsreichtum, Zusammenhalt und Fürsorge. Die Geschichte ist nicht nur unterhaltsam, sondern regt auch zur Kreativität und Problemlösung an und lehrt Kinder ab 4 Jahren Mitgefühl und das Einstehen für Freunde.
