The Chrysalids

In a post-apocalyptic future, a young boy named David navigates life in a community that strictly enforces religious and genetic conformity. Any deviation from their perceived "norm" is deemed an offense or blasphemy, leading to the public destruction of unusual plants and animals, and the banishment of humans with even minor abnormalities. As David grapples with these oppressive beliefs and the fear of being labeled a mutant, he must confront the harsh realities of his society's intolerance and the consequences of deviation.
