The Beetle

A shape-shifting creature from ancient Egypt seeks revenge on a British politician, unfolding through the perspectives of four narrators. The story begins with Robert Holt, a destitute clerk who encounters the menacing Beetle in a decaying house. The narrative shifts to Sydney Atherton, who vies for the affection of Marjorie Lindon against Paul Lessingham, the Beetle's target. Detective Augustus Champnell later reveals the connection between Lessingham and the supernatural entity, weaving a tale of horror and intrigue as the characters confront their fears and desires.
