The Sophists

This translated volume presents a new vision of the Sophists. It assesses specific contributions of thinkers like Protagoras, Gorgias and Antiphon, and how they shifted the focus of ancient philosophy from the cosmos to man through their questioning of the nature of knowledge and language and the grounds of morality and politics.
