The Chinese Space Programme in the Public Conversation about Space

Focusing on the discourse surrounding space exploration in China, this study critically examines how Western perspectives often simplify China's space program as a mere "Space Race" or a "China Threat." By employing critical theory within a post-Enlightenment framework, the research analyzes various texts and images to uncover deeper meanings. It highlights the importance of Science in China's space narrative, influenced by modernization and cultural values. The study also introduces the concept of "Heterotopia" to explore spatial dynamics in space missions and offers guidelines for future research in space culture.
