Gravesend Light

The story unfolds as Joe, a twenty-eight-year-old anthropologist, returns to his childhood home in Little Roanoke, a fishing community grappling with modernization. While conducting fieldwork, he becomes involved with Day, an OB/GYN providing controversial services to local women. Their romance flourishes amidst political tensions, reflecting Joe's struggle with his family's painful history.
