Living in a coastal town with her single mother Seloina and siblings, she faces tension due to her mother's struggles with parenting and work. Her grandmother Risa provides understanding and guidance, helping Kaiana prepare for her important role. Through her bond with Toroa, a pregnant humpback whale, Kaiana learns to embrace her gifts and trust herself.
