Harlan Coben ist ein superber Schriftsteller und Krimiautor. Seine Figuren sind authentisch, seine Stories haben viele spannende, überraschende Wendungen, sind aber in der Auflösung immer logisch und nachvollziehbar. Die Helden haben viel Charakter, in diesem Fall sind der Sportagent Myron Bolitar, und sein exzentrischer Milliardärsfreund, beide frühere FBI Mitarbeiter, einem längst vergangenen, ungelösten, sehr mysteriösen Entführungsfall auf der Spur. Politische Verwicklungen rund um ein Attentat linksgerichteter Sympathisanten vor Jahrzehnten, dunkle Gestalten und Verwicklungen, Geheimnisse reicher Familien, überraschende Entwicklungen und vielfältiges, bestens gezeichnetes Ensemble. Coben schreibt mit viel schwarzem Humor, sein Stil ist aber trotzdem auf sehr hohem Level, und er schafft es, die Leser nicht nur zu unterhalten, sondern auch politisch-historisches, technisches, ökonomisches Wissen zu vermitteln. Unbedingt empfehlenswert, und zwar alles von ihm.
