This study offers a unique exploration of the struggle for solidarity between the left in oppressor nations and the rebellions of the oppressed, focusing on the complex relationships between colonizers and colonial subjects amid the chaos of neo-colonialism. It addresses critical political issues such as pro-capitalist classes, opportunism, euro-centrism, and settler colonial privilege, highlighting the interactions between various peoples and organizations involved in revolutionary armed struggle. The historical context is particularly significant in the U.S. empire, where tensions between the white left and Black revolutionaries have been pronounced. The work begins by examining earlier revolutionary efforts at solidarity in early 20th-century Russia and the anti-colonial struggles in China during the 1920s-30s. It also critiques U.S. solidarity efforts during the Spanish Civil War and Ethiopia's resistance to Italian invasion, noting how these efforts often stifled domestic Black anger under white "Communist" leadership. The study culminates in an analysis of the violent rebellions of the 1960s and their aftermath, extending into the early 1980s. Published in 1985, this work was not aimed at a general audience but rather intended for those in prison, reflecting the harsh realities faced by revolutionaries during a tumultuous period marked by violence, mass incarceration, and the dismantling of communities.
