Talented, sensitive Johanna, sheltered from the harshities of life by an overprotective brother, suddenly finds her life caught up in a bizarre conspiracy. Alien beings disguised as humans have to come to Earth to abduct some of the planet's artists and musicians. Johanna's struggle with her own sanity strengthens her for a journey aboard a mother ship to a planet colony where the aliens plan to breed with Terrans to acquire their artistic abilities.
