Shea Andrews is thrilled to embark on her long-planned Christmas vacation in Malta with her best friend, Kristen. However, on the morning of their departure, Shea can't reach Kristen and soon learns that her friend has decided not to go. Determined to enjoy the trip she has invested so much in, Shea boards the plane alone. Meanwhile, Michael Foster is at the airport with his brother Daryl, who was supposed to go on his honeymoon to Malta but was left at the altar. Daryl is increasingly reluctant to board, and after some persuasion, he insists Michael should go and enjoy the trip since he can’t get a refund. Despite feeling guilty about leaving Daryl behind, Michael reluctantly agrees. As he settles into his seat, his doubts grow, especially when Shea takes the seat next to him, chatting animatedly on her phone. Michael is initially put off by her cheerful demeanor, given the tough year he's had. However, as they keep crossing paths during the trip, both Shea and Michael find themselves intrigued by each other. Will their unexpected connection lead to something more, or are they fated to part ways after their vacation in Malta?
