Der alte Fischer und der riesige Fisch, das ist fast schon ein Mythos. Ich habe selten so mit einem Charakter mitgefiebert wie mit Santiago. Hemingways Stil ist schlicht, aber gerade deshalb so eindringlich. Alles ist reduziert aufs Wesentliche: Ausdauer, Stolz, Einsamkeit. Auch wenn ich persönlich mehr von der Geschichte erwartet habe, so ist sie dennoch grossartig. Man kann richtig mitfiebern, obwohl man im Grunde weiss, wie es ausgeht.
