Set in 1984 Fontenay, a Parisian suburb, the story follows 12-year-old Célo, who struggles with feelings of inadequacy in ballet classes. After discovering her passion for Modern Jazz at a state-funded organization, she begins to thrive as a dancer. Her talent catches the eye of Cathy, a middle-aged talent scout from the Galaéte foundation, who becomes a mentor and influences Célo's life. However, as their relationship deepens, Célo becomes entangled in the complexities of ambition and exploitation, leading to unexpected consequences.
