Zanoni

The story centers on Zanoni, an immortal Rosicrucian with extraordinary powers who grapples with the dilemma of love and immortality. His heart is captured by Viola Pisani, a gifted opera singer, despite the risk of losing his eternal life. Concurrently, Glyndon, an Englishman enamored with Viola, chooses esoteric pursuits over love. As the backdrop of the French Revolution unfolds, Zanoni defies his mentor's warnings about love, ultimately marrying Viola and fathering a child. However, his deepening connection to humanity leads to his tragic demise on the guillotine.
