Was für ein Ritt! Dieses Buch ist pure Rachefantasie in Höchstform, und gleichzeitig ein großes Abenteuer mit Herz und Moral. Ich habe Edmont Dantès so sehr gegönnt, was ihm später widerfährt, nach all dem Verrat und Elend. Dumas erzählt üppig, detailverliebt und mit einem Gespür für Drama, das einen nicht mehr loslässt. Man taucht ab in eine Welt aus Intrigen, Masken und verborgenen Identitäten. Ich muss zugeben, es ist ein dickes Buch und die Story zieht sich an manchen stellen unnötig lang. Trotzdem finde ich es ziemlich gelungen.
